Live Like it’s Game Day with LaVar Arrington

LaVar Arrington is best known as one of the most celebrated and hardest-hitting linebackers in the history of the National Football League.

The #1 pick of the Washington Redskins (2nd overall) in the 2000 NFL draft, he was an immediate starter and earned three Pro Bowl and All-Pro selections (2001, 2002, 2003) during his tenure.

LaVar was also the first pro athlete signed to UnderArmour’s platform by founder & CEO Kevin Plank. In 2006, he departed his beloved Redskins and signed with the New York Giants where he played for one season before hanging up his cleats and returning to Washington, DC. He attended Penn State University where he was a two-time All-American under legendary coach Joe Paterno. He is also has been a frequent guest speaker on player safety on Capitol Hill.

Back in Washington D.C., LaVar moved over to the media world in television, radio, and print. His impressive sports intellect and personality made LaVar a natural on-air sports personality. His broadcasting career began on Comcast Sportsnet in 2007 where he worked on Redskins pre and post-game shows as well as becoming an opinion writer for the Washington Post Live in 2009.

In 2009, he signed on with 106.7 The Fan to host a weekday radio talk show called “The LaVar Arrington Show with Chad Dukes”. It became the highest-rated show on sports radio in two years time. In 2010, the “Sports Week with LaVar Arrington” television show began airing weekly on DC50 and it quickly became a top-rated popular local show.

Since 2014, LaVar can be found on the NFL Network as a lead television analyst.
He made a splash as a coach at legendary football powerhouse Long Beach Poly as a linebackers coach and assistant Defensive Coordinator. He is now a head coach at a prominent private high school Maranatha in Pasadena California.
